This was a really interesting piece Kate and very timely since I'm currently writing a journal article with a colleague of mine about interruption of women in television comedy shows (looking particularly at Mock the Week), so a lot of what you said is very useful in terms of contextualising our research.
One thing that I was interested in was your point about that people are more influenced by jokes than they are by facts or statements. I looked for the cite but didn't have any luck. Do you know the source of this research at all?
